HARVEST FEAST: November 26th, Stillwater Montessori School will be hosting a Harvest Feast. This will be held at the Elementary Site. The feast will be served from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. with pick-up of children at 11:30 a.m. The children from both schools prepare the feast. The cooking is done on Monday and Tuesday. There is a sign up sheet at both sites, if you have not signed up to bring something, there is still time; check the sign up sheet to see if there is an item that you could bring in on Monday morning. Thank you.
OPEN HOUSE: December 3rd, Stillwater Montessori School will be holding an Open House at our Elementary Site beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. This will be an open house for any one interested in their child attending Stillwater Montessori School, should you know someone that their child would benefit from our school bring them to our wonderful open house. The children will have displays of their work and would be more then willing to show how they work at their own pace, in a non-structured environment and still progress.
During the Open House at 3:30 p.m. the Culture Club will be in session with Global Links presenting Holidays Around the World. Then why leave when there will be a potluck supper. Come learn all about us and enjoy a dinner too.
CULTURE CLUB: The Culture Club will meet on Dec. 3rd; at 3:30 p.m. Global Links will present Holidays Around the world at the Elementary Site. Parents from Primary Site need to transport children over to the Elementary Site.
INTERNATIONAL POT LUCK SUPPER: Dec. 3rd, there will be an International Potluck Supper at the Elementary Site during the last few hours of the Open House. Look for a sign up sheet if you wish to donate a casserole, beverage, dessert etc.
TEACHER CONFERENCES: Teacher Conferences will be held on the following days, a sign up sheet will be posted at both sites for timing of the conferences. Fri. Dec. 6th Irene’s Class

FOOD DRIVE: Sarah Bishop a student at the Elementary Site, is helping the Mike & Mike Show, a local radio station, to raise non-perishable food and other non-perishable items for the less fortunate. The following is a notice Sarah has posted at the Primary & Elementary Site. Please help if you can, thank you.
PARENT FORUM:PLEASE COME to Parent-Teacher Forum on Friday, December 6th at 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Location: Stillwater Montessori School Primary School. TOPIC: “Learning Race Difference.” Montessori parent, Mary Moore Cathcart will lead a discussion about the ways in which children in our society learn about difference, some positive, some negative, some about themselves, some about “others.” We will discuss ways of helping them to navigate their own course through ideas of race and racism while maintaining positive self-images and positive feelings towards those around them. Parents will meet in one room while children watch a video or play in another room. Free food. Babysitting is $5.00 a family. NUTCRACKER PARTY & TICKETS: There is still limited space available for this wonderful performance at Maine Center for the Arts. Date: Sunday, December 8th, see Mary Bird. Fun family event with Pre-Party!!
HOLIDAYS FOR KIDS: Every year at this time Stillwater Montessori School takes up a collection of unwanted toys, books etc. that your child has outgrown or no longer wants. These toys go to the less fortunate children in the community. We at the same time will be collecting food this project. There will be a box at both sites in which you may drop them off. We will need to have all donations in NO later than December 13th, so that they can be distributed before the Holidays. Catherine DesPrez (Pieter’s Mom) will be delivering the food and the toys to Manna for the Christmas season. More information in the December 6th newsletter. Thank you, Catherine.
