1. SPRING ARTS Performance and Show.
SMS Students will sing, perform skits
and have artwork on display. Also violin students will perform. 6:30 p.m.
at the Anderson Community Center in Orono. Please arrive by 6:15 to ensure a
timely start to the performance.

2. Scholarship Auction and Dance.
Special Thanks to all the parents for a very successful event. $3300 was raised for the Scholarship Fund and everyone had fun too!!! A very Big Thank-You to our co-chairs Alison
Williamson and Catherine Desprez for an awesome job!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. *REMINDER- PARENT CONFERENCES:
Primary Classroom 1 (Joanne’s Room) ­ Wednesday, May 19th
Primary Classroom 2 (Marion’s Room) ­ Thursday, May 20th
Lower Elementary (Al’s Room) ­ Friday, May 28th
Upper Elementary (Irene’s Room) ­ Friday, May 21st
Please sign up for a time and be sure to fill out the Parent Conference Form
and return it to the school. Thanks; Check the sign-up sheets to ensure you
know when to come.

4. ELEMENTARY TO TANGLEWOOD 4H CAMP:
SMS elementary students will join
Kennebec Montessori School elementary students at Tanglewood 4H Camp in
Lincolnville, Maine (near Belfast) June 2nd, 3rd & 4th. We leave at 8:45
a.m. on Weds, and return at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. It will be a fun time
meeting other Montessori students and doing activities and programs with
them.

5. BIKE DAY at Primary on June 4th.
The primary students bring their bike
or riding vehicle to school. (Be sure to bring a helmet.) We talk about
safety, decorate our bikes and have a parade. Parent volunteers always help
to make this a special event a success. Please let the staff know if you can
help. Rain date is Monday or Tuesday the next week.

6. Environmental Club.
We had a great year! Please watch for flyers in the fall for next year’s program! Thanks to everyone that made the year so great!

7. Primary News:
The classrooms are finishing up Australia and the Ocean and next week will be doing a safety unit for the summer as well as watching insects and flowers, etc.

8. End of Year Celebration at the elementary location ­ June 9th.
The program will be the upper elementary Culturefest on Europe, with related activities, such as a marketplace and café. It will be followed by presentations and an ice cream social! Student pick-up at 11:30 a.m.
